Oldie but Goodie warranty scam

23 Feb 2025 - AJ

This is one of the scams that I’ve seen multiple times over the years.

It’s a classic “make people panic so they shut down any critical thought” scam. Even though most versions of the extended car warranty scam do give some value (they cover very limited and specific repairs) and therefore a lot less devastating than a lot of the scams I cover here, they’re still scams.

While I haven’t fallen for this one yet - there was a lot of coverage of this scam, even when I was a much younger AJ - it spurred me to keep a database (well, at least a spreadsheet) of all my policies and subscriptions including policy numbers as needed, the date they expire, and phone numbers/links related to them.
